David Lindsay BHMS, BPhty, MSc
David is an Australian born & trained Physiotherapist with a Masters of Science research degree from the University of Alberta. For over 20 years he was the Head Physical Therapist at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre – one of the largest Sport Medicine Centres in Canada. Although recently retired from the University, David co-founded and runs the Active Hip Centre in downtown Calgary; www.activehip.ca. He is still involved in active clinical and research practice and has been teaching post-graduate physical therapy courses for 25 years. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed research manuscripts in a variety of international medical and scientific journals as well as contributed a chapter in David Magee’s latest book titled “Athletic & Sport Issues in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation”. David has been collaborating with hip surgeons and sport medicine physicians for 20+ years to develop a highly specialized hip differential diagnosis and rehabilitation program that has undergone scientific scrutiny and clinical success. He has been teaching his hip course to enthusiastic PT audiences across Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, Australia and the USA.
Geoff Cuskelly BHMS BPhty
Geoff is an Australian Physiotherapist with an extensive exercise physiology, manual therapy and acupuncture background. He is the co-founder of the Active Hip Centre in downtown Calgary. Geoff is a gifted clinician as well as an experienced and entertaining lecturer in the areas of soft-tissue treatment techniques. His comprehensive Myofascial mobilization system utilizes progressive manual therapy methods for stimulating soft-tissue healing around the hip region.
Torri Barnes MScPT BKin
Torri graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta after completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at the University of Calgary. She has completed post-graduate education in Pelvic Health through Pelvic Health Solutions, manual and manipulative therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and has trained in arthritis management through the Good Life Arthritis – Denmark (GLAD) program.
Torri is passionate about the hip and pelvic floor and has worked extensively with Dave Lindsay on hip rehabilitation throughout her kinesiology and physiotherapy career. She has been working full-time at the Active Hip Centre since its inception. She strongly believes in evidence-based exercise prescription and education throughout the rehabilitation process.
